2 Sept 2015: John Butler joins the School

We are delighted to welcome Dr John Butler who has joined the School of Mathematical Sciences, DIT as a lecturer.

John was awarded his PhD in Computational Fluid Dynamics from TCD and has worked in the Max Planck Institute, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and most recently in the Trinity Center for Bioengineering.  John has been extremely productive in applying mathematical, statistical and computational approaches to different research fields from computational fluid dynamics to neuroscience. He has a highly collaborative multidisciplinary approach to research which has resulted in 41 authored or co-authored peer-reviewed journal and conference papers since 2004. In these papers he has utilized classical, frequentist and Bayesian statistics and numerical methods to analyse and help interrupt and predict large and complex datasets.
