24 Nov 2018: Career showcase for mathematical science graduates

On Monday 3 December 2018, the School will be holding its biennial Career Showcase event. The event invites all Stage 2, Stage 3 and Stage 4 students of our full-time undergraduate programmes, BSc Mathematical Sciences and BSc Industrial Mathematics, to listen to presentations from a variety of companies about their employment sectors. This year students will be able to meet representatives of Zurich, SAP, the Central Bank and Accenture to discuss graduate opportunities, career paths and ask questions about their employment sectors.

Thus, the Career Showcase will provide an insight into how large companies do business, representatives will describe the importance of mathematics to their business and the roles for mathematics graduates, which supports our graduates' future career choices and job applications.

The event also follows on from a very successful research career event at which undergraduates from the final stages of their degrees had an opportunity to find out about opportunities for postgraduate research in the School of Mathematical Sciences and hear the perspectives of both researchers and current postgraduate students.
