The School of Mathematical Sciences welcomed new students to its programmes in September and its undergraduate and continuing professional development programmes continue to prove very popular.

Almost thirty new full-time undergraduate students came to start their programmes DT205 Mathematical Sciences and DT220 Industrial Mathematics. During induction these students had an opportunity to meet their lecturers, find out about the structure of the course, receive practical information and, of course, get to know each other and sample the facilities and student societies DIT has to offer.

Our part-time induction evening was also a great success with approximately seventy students attending the evening which was designed to support the transition back to education for some and give an opportuntity for part-time students across the School to meet up. In particular, the event was attend by students from the Springboard+ funded DT8998 Data Analysis for Professionals programme which is full once again with over thirty new students.

The School warmly welcomes all its new students and wishes them every success in their studies and a rewarding time at DIT and the new Technological University of Dublin.
