22 Sept 2017: New-student enrolments increase in the School of Mathematical Sciences

The School of Mathematical Sciences is delighted to welcome all its new students who will be starting programmes in September 2017. Its two full-time undergraduate programmes – DT205 BSc Hons Mathematical Sciences and DT220 BSc Hons Industrial Mathematics – remain immensely popular with over thirty new students enrolling this year. These new entrants will be beginning a four-year honours degree that will equip them with the flexible, analytical and problem-solving skills for a professional career in their chosen sector.

In addition, the School is very pleased to welcome an increased number of students to its part-time undergraduate programmes and part-time continuing professional development programmes. In particular, a large number of students will be embarking upon the one-year CPD programme, DT8998 CPD Diploma in Data Analysis for Professionals. This programme is in its third year and going from strength to strength, providing opportunities for students to develop core skills in statistical data analysis – i.e. how to interpret a data set and how to draw conclusions and represent results of data analysis – using a blend of theory and practise-based software skills which enhance their problem-solving and decision-making skills. In 2017/2018 many of the students on this programme will be funded via the Springboard+ scheme providing upskilling.

The School also warmly welcomes back its continuing students and wishes them an enjoyable and successful year ahead. For more information about any of these programmes visit our programme information pages.
